Making Memories: Dayspring Holiday Review by David & Jeri

Just yesterday Jeri was asking for us to make a batch of “soupy” chili.  Ah ... a nice, warm comfort food as we feel the air becoming cooler and cooler.  There’s a little excitement, a little hustle ‘n bustle as we embrace the Christmas season. Decorations and clothing begin to reflect the joyous holiday spirit.

The beautiful No Greater Love - Soup Tureen & Ladle from the Love Came Down Collection joins us right in stride.  It is an elegant centerpiece for a wonderful, warm festive gathering of family and friends ... or just family.  I love how the soup bowls are shaped like giant coffee mugs ... this gives guys like me permission to put the spoon down and gulp up all the yummy goodness.

I can see how each year this set will become the symbol that we’ve made it through another year and we’re celebrating Our Lord and Savior’s birth together with loved ones ... enjoying the cool that fills the air and the warm that fills our tummies.

Little Joys and Small Wonders

You're Already Amazing - Yes, You Are!

I excitedly tell her about the book. Then I ask if she'd like to get together once a week to watch the videos and talk through the chapters. She says, "That sounds really good. I want to know who I am. Because I really don't, you know?"


I tell her that even those in their 40's, 50's, and 60's might say they don't know who they are either. Seasons bring change and right now, even I am rediscovering me -- at 45 a fresh becoming. We agree to hang out and read at our own paces. Just in case the scheduled book club (see bottom) is too fast-paced for us. We're looking forward to it and hang up expectant.

I'm completely beside myself to tell you all about how the life-words in this book has completely changed my view of me. You'll be pleasantly surprised with what you find about yourself too!


Holley has become a voice of encouragement to me both online and offline for living out my God-sized dreams. She has a heart for women to know that who we are in our everyday is amazing.


What I unwrapped and discovered I'm sure is for you too:


The joys I unwrapped with each chapter as I began to embrace the Truth of who I really am right here and now. My emotions rested in tender gifts like - "Dare to trust God's whispers into your life more than the demands of the world around you about ‘the right way’.”


The wonder I discovered in that who I am right now, is just who God wants me to be. The life-words in this book really takes the pressure off fitting into a mold. It helps to shine beauty into us in the present and how in another season we might change. I love that! It's so true. There are wonderful exercises to do in the book that will help you discover more of amazing you. Even David did the exercises with me.

We've been unwrapping Jesus all month long with Bonnie over at her amazing blog home. Unwrapping the heart of Christmas. Unwrapping the miracle of Jesus' birth. Some writings unwrap the pain this time of year holds for many and the hope of connecting in and through that pain ... onto healing.

Today we're unwrapping the tangible and the material. These also point us to Jesus and keep our minds on things above. Gifts with meaning and messages to keep us mindful and conscious. A Few Days Ago:
David got online at the Dayspring store and put in his black Friday order. I watched him and he was having some kind of fun there. The box arrived the other day and He had an awesome surprise in it for me. I had been wanting the bird cage card holder. It just so happened to be on sale at the time. Right on time. He bought for himself to decorate, the nativity trio light holder.

Yesterday:
My product for review arrived. One of the things I love to do is recall the Names of Jesus that speak strength back into me when I'm drained or speak joy into me when I want to celebrate. Dayspring's Names of Jesus - Wooden Letter Block will be doing that for me this season. I've already set it out and slowly turned it to look at each name -- Immanuel, Jesus, Messiah, and Saviour. I love that each name has a verse attached to it.

Just What I Wanted:
The extra touch is the little gifts the tucked into that shipment. I couldn't believe it. I was just telling David that I wanted to buy these particular mugs for us and there it was! I had to step back. Shilo had stopped by and was here when I opened the boxes. He had a smile on his face that celebrated with me.
