Thoughts For the Weekend ~ Anticipation

I feel a fun weekend coming on! I feel like a kid filled with pure anticipation.

I've been wanting to do some re-organizing and de-cluttering. I hear ya. That doesn't sound like fun at all. That's what the fun planning is for. To counter balance the work.

Anticipating working together:
We can only do what we can. So David & I have agreed on not pushing the work, but rather enjoying the spaces we'll be creating for breathing.

We're going to try these out to keep us on track:

  • Prayer before we start
  • Following our list anticipating a few setbacks
  • A timer to be sure we take breaks and get back on track
  • Keeping each other accountable - if any part of it seems overwhelming - we pause, pray, breathe, and start only when we're whole again and ready.

Anticipating good food, snacks and fun:
Food and snack breaks would pair up great with a fun table game.

We might need longer breaks. Hmm. Oh, I know! We need to start up our Wii. That'll give us some get up and move around fun.

We've also agreed to cease the work well before the sun goes down. That way we get a good sunset walk in with Shadow.

How about a nice dinner to celebrate the days' achievements and a good movie afterward.

Anticipating setbacks:
The most important thing we've realized is that nothing everything will go as planned. That could be a could thing. We'll just have to stop. Pause to regroup. Pray for a re-direct. Breathe steady and see what that setback gifts us with.

With you in mind:
What are you anticipating for your weekend?
Got any stories on past setbacks that turned out for good?

Soul Refreshment:
Proverbs 19:21We humans keep brainstorming options and plans,
   but God's purpose prevails.

Isaiah 65:18Look ahead with joy.
   Anticipate what I'm creating:
I'll create Jerusalem as sheer joy,
create my people as pure delight.
