Thank goodness we're not limited to just one. So, while we're on the subject -
I had to make a pit stop and share this recent experience with you all.
I'm so excited to share this with you all and proud of myself too. In May of this year, I began writing for The Examiner as Honolulu Vegan Examiner. When I was first hired, I specified what I'd write about, so I thought it was fine to keep writing about it once it was official. Well, just recently I found that I was only supposed to be writing on food n drink specifically and nothing else.
I wanted to honor their policy and still be able to write about vegan living as a whole lifestyle and not just about what we eat. This was my 3rd try to get into a different category or have a different title and...It worked! My channel advisor got me into a different category to fit what I truly want to write about. Woohoo! It didn't just fall in my lap and I'm glad I had to work for it. I am now the Honolulu Vegan Lifestyle Examiner - covering vegan living as a whole lifestyle. Yay! Yay! Yay!
Here's part of the email I sent explaining what vegan is to me and the victory reply: (I've left the channel advisers name for their privacy - She helped me big time!)
Jeri: Is there any way to broaden what I can cover… or...
Vegan living is not just about food, it’s also big in sustainable living, environment, farm-to-table, animal rights, school lunch program and more. These and many issues are covered nationwide and I could share.
Major events for vegans happen yearly on the mainland. Right now, I have contacts in a few major cities who run those organizations, magazines, groups, and businesses and are working on connecting Hawaii’s vegan events/activities with the rest of the U.S. Talking with other local vegans I’ve found that we don’t have enough publicized resources. Not just local, but in general. If it means a second or third title, I don't mind.
First Reply: Hi Jeri, Please see below and let me know if you're interested in the Vegan Lifestyle title in the Home & Living Channel...
Of course, I said "Yes!" and I made sure to thank her profusely.
2nd Reply:I’ve switched your title/ channel.
Our dreams, passions, and convictions truly are a part of who we are. Going after them in the right way fulfills a very important part of our life journey. The "going after" is the adventure - fun, work, effort, connecting.
We can totally enjoy our journey knowing the end results will come to fruition.

Hebrews 6:12 (Msg) - Don't drag your feet. Be like those who stay the course with committed faith and then get everything promised to them.

You ladies are awesome. I'm so encouraged to keep writing my heart. Now, I just need to edit and post the scriptures I had for that post...hee hee.
