Refreshing Day 4 ~ Finding Laughter

Jeremiah 30:19 ~ "Thanksgivings will pour out of the windows; laughter will spill through the doors.

Things will get better and better. Depression days are over. They'll thrive, they'll flourish. The days of contempt will be over."

I felt God nudge me. "Jeri, you've forgotten to find time to laugh." I knew he didn't mean just smiling or feeling joy.

This is one of my favorite photos laughter.

I clearly remember this moment. We were all outside a cafe our family band had played at. All our close family was there. We always laughed so hard. The "boys" never failed to get us cracking up. I mean, no sound...stomach hurting...can't take it no more belly laughter.

In my short pause, I thought of...

People that make me laugh
Things that crack me up
Activities I do with others that get us to breathless laughter
Memories that make me laugh out loud

I think I'll spend today finding my laughter as often as I can.

Hubby's coming home early. Wii competition is on! Because we end up laughing...it'll fill me up for all the school work I'm diving into today.

How about you all?
Any long periods of time when you forgot to find time to laugh?
What absolutely cracks you up?

Oh yes you bet laughter refreshes!

Love this reminder! You know it is true, that I get so busy doing life, I forget to find the laughter and joy in it.

I do forget to make time for fun and laughter.

What causes me to smile and laugh the most is the kids in my class...

... like when I cause a paper fight and the kids look on with amazement that "Miss Katie" caused this big mess. And when the first one copies me shyly and slowly, and doesn't get in trouble a huge grin follows. Then they all join in the paper fight.

They love it and I love it. I never laugh so hard as during that paper fight I do with my class every year while stuffing a scarecrow for Halloween.

@Stacey - Hi fellow blogfrog friend. Busyness is such a worm. Little by little slithering in and oh so quietly too. I'm so happy you came by.

@Katie - I started giggling as I read about your awesome paper fight. I can just see it. Any chance someone can get pics or video this year? I'd love to see it!

what cracks me up are simple witty lines and my friends who are too cool to laugh at themselves. It feels good to belong in the community who knows how to laugh :)

I didn't realize it until this post, but I haven't had a good laugh in a long time. It's time to change that! In a couple of weeks, I'll be riding rides at the fair---for some reason rides always crack me up! :)

I have pictures of past paper fights, but since they involve children who are not mine I won't post them any place online. They were in a classroom setting.

Oh and this year I have 1 year olds at my new job, so I won't be doing this. I do throw paper balls around with them and they like to play fetch.

@Jennifer - that sounds so fun!!!

@Katie - your class must have a blast.
