Refreshing Day 17 ~ Letting Him Set My Pace

Psalm 18:20 ~

God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before Him.

When I got my act together, He gave me a fresh start.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day hasn't even started yet and already I'm running through the unchecked list in my head.
All the pieces:
  • bible study and prayer
  • get myself ready for the day
  • exercise
  • daily chores
  • Shadow
  • unmet expectations
  • dreams not yet realized
  • all I want to write about
  • needing more time
  • All I want to become
All the pieces. So many pieces!
Setting the pieces before Him:
This is becoming my favorite thing to do. To take all the pieces of me and my day and sit quietly. Otherwise, you have a heretic on the loose at the Taira house! Oh, she's still around, but not for long...hee hee.
I sit, I breathe, I think...
I think on His love for me. His love stirring up servings of graceGrace that reminds me I can't and don't have to do it all. Beautiful grace that gives me permission to not be at full throttle. Grace that pauses and refocuses me to the gifts, talents, and skills He's given me.
Getting my "act" together:
I remember all that I'm refreshed in doing.
Jesus holds my pieces. I can just hear Him saying, "I know. I understand."  He's becoming my best friend. He sees me. He hears all my heart holds and the words I can't seem to say out loud. He gets me.
Letting Him Set My Pace:
When I give all my pieces to Him, I can trust Him with each and every one. I can slow flow in His grace. Not having it all down or all together. But, what I can do and who I am right where I'm at.
Soul Refreshment:
Psalm 18:23, 24 ~
I feel put back together,
      and I'm watching my step.
   God rewrote the text of my life
      when I opened the book of my heart to His eyes.
Romans 3:28 ~
Our lives get in step with God
       and all others
     by letting Him set the pace,
       not by proudly or anxiously trying to run the parade.
And you...
Can you even imagine letting God set your pace?
What would your life be like if He ran you parade?
Do you trust that every piece of your life is safe in His hands?
I'm still getting there myself. So, I'd love to hear your heart.
Thank You Katie. Much love to you too.
Yes, yes, me too! I can't make a day happen right unless I ask him to be in charge of the timing, which is my way of saying let him set the pace. Today we're home sick, cancelled things I didn't realize we do on a "normal" Monday, and things I did! Well, and it's a good day and I'm thanking God for it. I think I can make dinner, even! Throw some chicken into the oven with spices sprinkled on (garlic and oregano are my standby but today it's herbes de provence) for an hour. Reheat soup a friend brought last night. Salad greens. See? Usually dinner is so hard for me to think of but with a day of nothing, dinner sounds fun to do. Thank you Lord! Thanks for being there writing of God, sister in Christ.
